
Club & Area Referee Course

£15Welsh Judo are pleased to offer face to face award training for the BJA Club and Area referee levels in the same session.
The module will cover the basic structure of refereeing, penalty situations, signals, referee pathway as well as the competition framework.
The module is suitable for athletes or coaches who have not previously had any referee or official competition experience but meet or exceed the entry criteria set out in the British Judo Referee Handbook.
If in doubt, please call the organiser to discuss, Neil Lawcock, in this case. Club and Area referee levels may use this module as a revalidation event. Coaches who fully qualify to their next level including the event practical examination can claim a coach revalidation on completion.
CLUB REFEREE
The Club Referee award is the first entry point for the British refereeing system.
Mininum Requirements: Green belt (10 Mon / 3 Kyu) , aged 12 or older
Typical Events: Club and smaller area events
AREA REFEREE
The Area Referee award is the second level of refereeing qualification awarded by British Judo.
Minimum Requirements: Blue belt (13 Mon / 2 Kyu) , aged 15 or older
Typical Events: Area and club events
