The Welsh Judo Association is proud to announce that Nigel Bowley has been awarded his 6th Dan, recognising an exceptional lifetime of dedication and service to the sport of judo.
A member of Sentai Judo, Nigel’s achievement reflects not only his high-level technical expertise but also an extraordinary 50 years of involvement in judo. Over five decades, he has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the principles, values, and development of the sport. Nigel is widely respected as a senior examiner and referee, roles in which his knowledge, integrity, and experience have helped to uphold standards and shape the progression of judo across generations. His contribution has extended far beyond personal practice, influencing countless judoka through assessment, officiating, and mentorship.
This prestigious grade is a fitting recognition of Nigel’s long-standing service, expertise, and dedication to judo. His commitment to excellence and to giving back to the sport has earned him the respect of colleagues, athletes, and the wider judo community.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Nigel Bowley on achieving his 6th Dan, a truly well-deserved honour and a testament to a lifetime devoted to judo.
