The Welsh Judo Association is pleased to announce the release of the Athlete Nomination Policy for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
This policy outlines the process by which judoka will be considered for nomination to Team Wales’ selection panel. Developed in collaboration with Commonwealth Games Wales (CGW), the nomination framework ensures a transparent, performance-based pathway for selection.
The Commonwealth Games is the biggest opportunity for judoka to represent Wales on a major international stage — and we know how much that means to our athletes, their families, clubs and the wider judo community. This nomination policy sets out a clear and transparent process toward nomination to Team Wales. We wish all athletes the very best as they begin their journey toward Glasgow — good luck, train hard, and know that the whole Wales is behind you every step of the way.
