The Welsh Judo Association are seeking a new Non-Executive - Finance to help advance our work over the next two years. Our objective is to promote the sport of judo in Wales, provide judo training and give our members support, advice and assistance. As a non-executive director you will play a crucial role to help the twelve member board of directors provide leadership and expertise in corporate governance, determine the WJA’s vision, mission and strategic aims and ensure financial arrangements are robust.  

You’ll challenge and contribute to board decision making, bring valuable external experience to the board, act as an ambassador for the sport throughout Wales and be good at listening sensitively to others both inside and outside of the Board. You’ll be able to act impartially and in accordance with the values of Welsh Judo to win the respect and trust of other board directors and members.

Ideally you’ll have previous experience of working in an ambassadorial role for an organisation. You’ll be a great leader who excels at strategic decision making and effective communication.  You’ll also be a team player,  interested in developing yourself and others and show the ability to keep a customer focus in all decision making.  You’ll appreciate the value of diversity, working effectively with individuals of diverse style, ability, and motivation. 

Experience in serving on public sector, private sector or not-for-profit boards would be an advantage, as would responsibility for the performance of a business unit, function, or division.
