The Cadet Futures Camp returns with 4 Welsh Judoka heading to Paris, France from 16th – 22nd October.
The camp will be held outside of Japan for the first time since its inauguration in 2016.
Ordinarily, the British Judo Team would head to the home of judo and train in iconic venues such as the Kodokan and Tokai University. However, as coronavirus restrictions are still high in Japan, and travel across the country and access to dojos and schools/universities not possible, the decision had been made to move the location to Paris, France.
The Cadet Futures Camp provides judoka with the opportunity to work on the fundamentals and technical aspects of their judo. The Cadet Futures Camp is a key part of the GB/HN Cadet Strategy and is aligned to the Technical Development Framework. This focuses on helping the athletes to fight with effective technique which they can then transfer into senior competition.
Holly Devall, Kylan Aylward, Laurence Hill, and Lola Hodson will be among the 25 British Judoka heading to Paris, with Stephen Abberley as Welsh Coach. Former graduates from the Cadet Futures Camp have gone on to achieve success at Cadet, Junior and Senior international level including at European Opens, the IJF World Tour and most recently the Commonwealth Games.
